The NEW Solar System: Now with only 8 planets!

In the news today Pluto was effectively stripped of its title as a planet. It has been renamed to the designation of "dwarf planet". When prompted for comment Pluto replied "Actually we prefer to be called little planets" and continued "On the bright side, I can finally park in the handicapped spaces at Galaxy-mart".

Snakes on a plane

Well maybe not snakes... but liquid explosives. Tom was headed to Czech via Heathrow yesteday and landed right in the middle of it. His last post before leaving was:
The 5.5 hour layover in London will suck, but I'll keep busy by watching more movies there and avoiding insane terrorist bomb attacks.

Little did he know 12 hours later he'd be stuck in Heathrow because of a plot to blow up planes. Here's a quote from him on what's happened:
nice call erik! right inthe middle. i'm still in london. i hate this place. i spent 11 hours at the airport yesterday and hte best thing i got was a flight out on sunday night..
stayed in central london overnight, this morning somehow they put me on a different flight, so back to the airport i go via underground metro (the same one that terrorists keep blowing up). im at the airport now, soo happy to be getting out of here.
they arrested TWENTY FOUR people who were involved with this bomb threat!
the security at airport is so tigh tonly thing i take take on plane is my passport. no book, ipod, nothing.

Let's hope he gets out of there quickly and safely.

Short Films by the Director of Halo - The Movie

Tom's posted a well produced video by what is rumoured to be the director of the upcoming Halo movie. Here's the description and link:

"Alive in Joburg is a haunting short film by Neill Blomkamp (director of the Citroen Transformer ad that everyone was talking about a few months back) that explores the concept of segregation, apartheid and what it means to be considered “alien”." Watch it here.

These are two more videos by him: tetra-vaal and Citroen Commercial

MORNING WAKESESSION

This morning I got up at a tardy 6am to hit lake Sammamish with my x-roomie Derek and boss David. We were on the water by 6:30am, no wind, the water was flat and a soupy 72 degrees. The air was actually colder. This was my first time this season and I hit the air-chair and then wakeboard. No backside handle passes completed but I'm back where I was last year. Derek warmed up with some backflips and then started to lay down frontflips on the air-chair. David is improving quickly and can clear the wake. This was by far the best wake-up call I've had this summer. See below for the video compilation of some runs we did and of course the photos are up.

MOTORCYCLE WRENCH DAY

It's official... the BMW is gone. Here's my last picture with my first car (at least my first car that I drove for more than 15 minutes without the clutch exploding).

It did not go in vain. I've turned my attention and cash flow to the R6. On the weekend we met at Dan's to work on the Scion and 5 motorcycles. Chris bought a throttle body sync-tool and we each saved about $300 doing the syncs ourselves. I also cleaned the air-filter and my bike can breathe again! Performance is up. I've got new tires on the way (ronayers.com has a set of Metzeler M1's for $240 shipped). New plugs are in the works as well.

Here are pictures from the event... and you've got to watch this clip we filmed (the end is hilariously dumb).
